Ian Marschner is Professor of Biostatistics at The University of Sydney, in the NHMRC Clinical Trials Centre. He has 30 years of experience as a biostatistician working on health and medical research, particularly involving clinical trials in various therapeutic areas. As well as providing statistical leadership on clinical research projects, his research also focuses on the development of new statistical methodology for designing and analysing clinical trials. He has an extensive publication record and has received research funding from various sources, including the NHMRC, ARC and industry funding schemes. Professor Marschner has held senior appointments in both academia and industry, including Director of the Asia Biometrics Centre with the pharmaceutical company Pfizer, and Head of the Department of Statistics at Macquarie University. He was also formerly Associate Professor of Biostatistics at Harvard University.
