Call for abstracts
The ACTA International Clinical Trials Conference 2019 hosted by the Australian Clinical Trials Alliance invites submissions from those interested in presenting oral, moderated poster or poster presentations. We look forward to your participation in this very important event for the advancement of clinical trials research in Australia and internationally.
To be selected to present you are required to submit an abstract online. All abstracts must be submitted electronically (download the template). Faxed or hard copy submissions will not be accepted. A list of topics that will be included in the Conference program can be found here, but submissions are welcome in all areas.
The deadline for submission of abstracts is 24 June 2019.
Abstract submission closes: 24 June 2019
Abstract acceptance emailed: 22 July 2019
Early bird registration deadline: 31 July 2019
All presenters must register to attend the Conference. Acceptance of abstracts into the program is contingent upon receipt of the registration fee. Abstract presenters will be given the opportunity to take advantage of the early-bird registration rate after notification of abstract acceptance.
Please read the guidelines below carefully. Abstracts not submitted in this format using the template may not be considered for review. If you have any difficulties or queries about the abstract format, please contact the Conference Secretariat by email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Only abstracts submitted in English will be reviewed.
Abstracts are to be submitted in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx) only via the Conference website, and in the specified format – please refer to the abstract template.
Text should be single spaced throughout, in Arial 10-point font.
Title of abstract should be in sentence case and precise so that it conveys a message
Text within the body of the abstract should contain subheadings contained within the paragraph, not on a separate line: Introduction, Background/objectives, Methods, Results and Conclusion(s).
Abstracts must have a maximum of 300 words. Word count does not include title or references; all numbers are included in the word count. Word count is verified using Microsoft Word.
Abstracts should not have been published in any English language medical or nursing peer reviewed journal, and in general should not have been presented at more than one meeting from which such publications arise. Studies with substantial changes in methodology and/or with substantial additional data may be submitted, presented and published a second time, but rewritten abstracts on the same study should not.
Abstracts received after the closing date will not be accepted.
Abstract selection will be based on clarity, scientific rigour, supporting data, significance, relevance, interest in the topic chosen, innovation and usefulness. The Organising Committee has the right to refuse or accept any submission, accept the submission as an oral, moderated poster or poster.
Notification of acceptance will be provided to corresponding authors in July 2019 which will give presenters the opportunity to take advantage of the early bird registration rate. Abstract acceptance will oblige the presenting author to register and pay the appropriate registration fee to attend the Conference to present their work.
